Vita Vaka
Vita is new to Blenheim Musical Theatre, with his debut performance in ‘Joseph’. He’s no newcomer to music though, with his performing arts journey beginning in church, where he learnt how to sing, play instruments, dance and act. He continued his passion by studying Pasifika Performing Arts and graduating with a Diploma from
the Pacific Institute of Performing Arts in Auckland.
Vita runs his own Arts company ‘Fua Creative’, working as a performer, singer, songwriter, music director, vocal coach, choreographer, playwright and facilitator across the professional, community and education sectors.
Growing up with the story of Joseph, it’s one Vita feels personally connected to, especially when he made the move from Auckland to
Blenheim in 2016 and a local teacher said he would be perfect to act in the Joseph musical. At the time this wasn’t the show being done by BMT, so now being in Joseph is a significant milestone.
When he saw the callout for auditions last year, he felt prompted to finally do something for himself, since he had been writing, directing and producing his own work since moving here in 2016. He is excited to be back on stage and involved with others who are pursuing their passion in musical theatre.
